| This is a look at the Split. This at one time was a small stream across the island. In 1961 Hurricane Hattie widened it. In the early 80's the channel was dredged to create the Split. Since then, erosion has widened it even more. The northern part of the island is pretty much a marsh. The Lazy Lizard is on the right. |
